We wish to inform you that the Bureau of Customs (BOC) in the Philippines has recently enforced stricter security measures and inspection protocols for all balikbayan box shipments. This decision was prompted by recent incidents involving illicit drugs discovered inside balikbayan boxes coming into the Philippines from other parts of the world, leading to tighter security and customs controls. This new measure is affecting ALL balikbayan box companies from all around the world, including all companies shipping from Australia.
As part of this directive, containers and boxes may be subject to inspection including scanning of each box. Additionally, trained K-9 sniffing dogs will be deployed and will be used at the Manila warehouse as required by the Bureau of Customs. Please note that this is not exclusive to Forex Cargo Australia. These new procedures apply to all balikbayan boxes entering Philippines, regardless of their origin whether from Australia, the U.S., Canada and all other countries.
We understand this may raise concerns and cause delays, but we ask for your kind patience and cooperation. These procedures are mandated by the BOC and are intended to ensure the safe and lawful entry of all shipments.
